Jeanne d’ arc
The Frenchiest French Bistro in San Francisco, according to SF Chronicle.
San Francisco’s beloved French bistro is back. We have worked diligently to bring back the most authentic French restaurant in San Francisco, so you can enjoy fine French cuisine in a unique setting with baroque-inspired decor that captures all the charm of traditional brasseries.
Embark on a culinary adventure in the heart of Union Square with some of your old favorites from our prix fixe menu, plus new specials and a curated wine selection to complement your experience. Bon appétit!
Jeanne D’Arc, named after the famed French heroine, has been providing authentic French cuisine in San Francisco for nearly 50 years.
Our menu would not be complete without a very well-curated selection of fine wine from the hills of Bordeaux and vineyards of California.
What our friends who love French cuisine are saying…
"Their Souffle is out of this world! Beautiful little restaurant. Staff was great and the food tasted delicious. Highly recommended it."
"If you're searching for an extraordinary taste of France, look no further. This restaurant redefines French cuisine with its creative interpretations and unwavering dedication to quality."
"Parents took me here and I absolutely love it. Food is deliciously French and the staff is so friendly. Everyone's in there celebrating something. But also a couple people just enjoying a nice meal to themselves. We came for the prix fix and boy was it worth it--especially for the prices in this town. Potato soup, caprese salad (Tomato was finely sliced. Never had it like that before but now prefer it.), rabbit cooked in a red wine sauce, and the grand mariner soufflé "
"Wow! What an amazingly eclectic restaurant! Downstairs from the Cornell Hotel, almost in a dungeon-like room, filled with some great artifacts and artwork that line the walls. Every corner of the room is filled with enough stuff that you can't possibly take it all in with one visit here...almost makes you wonder if it is a restaurant or a museum!".."
Charming, delicious, French, warm, romantic. These are the first words that come to mind when thinking of the Restaurant Jeanne d'Arc in the Hotel Cornell. We love the hotel, too, and the lovely couple (and their especially adorable son) who run the place are just gems. I'm an American of a certain age who has lived and worked in France at various times since my teenage years, and I can tell you that eating in the Restaurant Jeanne d'Arc makes me feel like I am back in Amboise or at some other chateau in the Loire Valley. We've had breakfast and dinner there many times."
